I wonder if we have enough activity to talk about movies. I try to watch a lot and not just eastern stuff.

This morning I watched Super, mostly because of Ellen Page. It was surprisingly good, although
that rape scene really surprised me
.

It Follows is solid and probably decent for dates but she mightve seen it

The VVitch is fucking fantastic but atmosphere-heavy (dunno if thats your thing)

Whatever you do don't watch Raw on a date

Train to Busan is good, but it kind of ends up doing the modern zombie movie thing where its more action/thriller than horror

Tag is absolutely wild and great, but not 100% horror and has little narrative clarity. But its kind of uplifting and has a killer post-rock soundtrack

Stitches is a surprisingly enjoyable horror comedy just to have on and chuckle at

The Void has a really shitty script but the body horror scenes are wonderful

Good luck, hope you guys enjoy whatever you watch

Who will host it? Stats-kun? BYOChair at my place?

>> No.9142

Stats-kun here, ready to stammer out some probabilistic nonsense for the world to hear!

Yeah, I can totally host. If we wanna do it post-finals that's 100 in my book, I'm also chill with the mid-finals weekend. We gotta figure out when exactly, but if it's gonna be a weekday we'll probably start a little earlier since I have a flatmate with a job.

Also I mentioned before the possibility of a ~f r e e~ secret santa. Basially the rules would be no spending money to acquire the gift, so theft, creativity, and giving of things you already own are all super kosher, however you wanna do it. If you're interested, hmu at the email provided and give a lil blurb about yourself so your santa can give you the best gift possible. If less than 4 people are into it then probably a no-go, but with at least 4 we'll call it greenlit.

Cosy picture OP.
Anyway it's Watauga Hall hands down

 • Mix of suite-style and hall-style
 • Suites only have two rooms (i.e. four people per suite)
 • Huge refrigerator and microwave for the suite
 • Convenient for North campus
 • Very quiet
 • Near Clark dining hall
 • Near the Belltower
 • Only three floors

Attached is a picture of practicaly the first day I moved in to Watauga.
TBH dorm-life sucks (see: no kitchen) just get into an apartment when convenient. Sure you'll have to cook and clean (hopefully you already clean your dorm) but at least you don't need to put up with living in university housing.
I've heard that Bragaw has the largest rooms: though, the rooms in Lee hall might rival that.

Could you gib me protips about starting to use Linux? Maybe during/after the LUG meeting? I basically want something relatively easy-to-use, but with enough freedom to experiment if I'm so inclined. From what I've been reading, it looks like MOFO (or Mint or Zorin) would be the best build for me. I figure MOFO would be best since I would like to have some gd privacy while DLing back-ups of games I own and subtitled dragon ball z for which I buy the blurays, of course. I also wanna talk shit w/out ruining my chances at a job in gubbamint in my 30s/40s. AAAND seeing as how it's based off Ubuntu, it should be newbie friendly, right?

computers read instructions one at a time; multicore systems (if they're running an OS that can take advantage of the additional CPUs) can allow several different processes to execute instructions at the same time
