I want to daily Linux on my laptop but the bullshit 4K display is fuck I hate it. I'm just going to buy a laptop with a reasonable display rather thank fall // than fall for the HiDPI display meme again
It's bullshit
I can't see anything without scaling everything 200% in Windows, and even then some programs don't respect my scaling preference
The laptop market went to shit after ~2003

I bought an obviously stolen X240 when I was in Akihabara in July. It runs very well and I'm glad I ditched that awfully big W541. It was too much computer for me to actually use.

Unfortunately, it seems like it's just Red Hat with some bells and whistles. Still, neat.

I've considered doing similar (bc I have a thumb drive that also goes well on a chain I have), but I don't know what I'd put on it. All the machines I use tend to have my preferred tools and I have a laptop even if they didn't. What kind of stuff do you put on it, schizoid?

I have a live-iso of a Linux distro on mine; it's one of those persistent installs too so I can keep my PGP keys on an encrpyted partition on there. I also have a plan to install one-half of an encryption keyfile in a file on there. That way I can plug it into a computer that has the other half-key and unlock an encrypted volume on that PC without ever typing in the password.

An additional benefit of the half-key approach I'm working on is that if (when) the party van comes I can just pull out the USB and have the computer erase its own copy of the half-key. Then the fed only has one half of an encryption key which doesn't do much good.

Also my passwords are between 10 and 30 characters and I only remeber them by muscle memory. If you ask me what my password is I honestly couldn't tell you, I'd have to type it out and read it: even then I probably couldn't do that under duress.

I added this little Lightning emblem on it recently and upgraded to a thicker cord that let me tie a few cute figure-8 knots in it.

King Crimson, is making the internet great again against the rules? Is VIZ gonna deliver a DMCA in person? Or are you doing something... EXTRA fun?
