Port City Java über alles: anywhere else (on-campus at least) just gets shit on because:

  1. You can't beat the price
  2. and the lines move fast

Like holy shit if I wanted a cup of coffee and I thought "Damn, I really want to wait in line for everyone and their mom to order a fucking frappe today" then maybe I'd go to the *cucks in the basement of Talley and wait ~1 hour for my americano
but why would I do that when I could go to the PCJ on the (((1st))) floor and order a USA and be out of there faster than you could flunk out of first-year engineering? that's a good cup of coffee

>> No.9362

I do not comprehend why people willingly starB themselves when literally anything else exists (Hella Beans is my favored). Fun fact, though, apparently Space$s introduced (read: copied from Europe) the idea of a café to Amerifats (and totally missed the point, as AmFats always do when importing culture).

Ammies will never understand the pleasures of after dinner coffee because Amorals only understand coffee as a drug pushed by the owner-class to improve worker efficiency. They will never understand the pleasing nature of a a cup of coffee because they will only ever use it as work-fuel or addiction-fodder.

I hope one day to see the American people freed from the bonds of servitude to the owner class. It may not be as bad as GoGoNippon, but when looking at Yurop you can see that employers (and culture to a lesser degree) devalue the individual life in favor of the big, fat bottom line. When productivity has been increasing, why have both hours and wages (relative to cost of living) remained the same?

May you retake ownership of your labor and enjoy peacefully the pleasantries of coffee. I pray also to not be b& for pol banter, for though I feel the line has not been crossed I feel it ever looming.

Hello boys and girls,
I’m Sammy the salmon. Do you want to see my salmon dance?

I’m looking to form a band. I am a beginner musician and I’m looking for people with little or no experience (or masters who are willing to tug around with a noob like me).

I really want to experiment with the music. J’aime bien music that has eclectic soundscapes and psychedelic sensations. Genres: any combination of the adjectives Alternative, Indie, Psychedelic with the nouns pop, rock and sometimes metal.

I know you didn’t ask but here’s a list of some of the music peoples j’adore.
Unknown Mortal Orchestra 😍
The Boogarins
Soft Hair
Phum Viphurit
Thundercat
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard
Crumb
Psychedelic Porn Crumpets
Local Natives
Beach House
Alabama Shakes
The Arcs
Mustard Service
The Marias

I love you all. If you’re interested in joining my band text me fam 3368315411. I hope I’m doing this right. I’m a CS major but music is my passion and my dream. Hopefully this will be the post that leads to a legendary creation. Ciao <3

I don't music anymore (and was never very good), so I'm sorry to say that ain't me. Phum and King Gizzard are the only ones I recognize from your list and they're pretty fun. I wish you bon chance in your ventures and hope to see you in concert some day

Feels bad man
Seriously though how do you even make friends here? I've tried joining clubs but I don't really have time for clubs anymore + I didn't really click with anyone when I went. I can't seem to find anyone who I can talk to in most of my classes either. What the hell am I doing wrong? I've never had trouble making friends until college.

>> No.9355

I'm about to sound like a meme, but you need to put yourself out there.
I didn't understand what that meant for a long time, this is my 7th year here (4 years of undergrad and now 3 in PhD) and I didn't make any friends until the end of my 5th year.

I got tired of being lonely and went out of my way to talk to people, ask to study with them even if I understood the material, hung out in the department student lounges, invited people to lunch often, started (a very short lived) movie night, joined the department's board game club, etc.

Also you have to make time for this stuff. You said you didn't have time for clubs, like no one does. You make time for a social life and spend less time doing stuff you like doing on your own.

HI /NCSU/.

>> No.9320

I'm in mechanical engineering and I alternate between a ti89 titanium for homework and lax teachers, then for most tests and strict teachers they require a ti36x or similar calculator. The engineering webpage has a list of accepted and recommend calculators but if you're in another major i recommend getting the beefiest one you can carry.

I've had a few courses where I've needed to use the TI-30XA (i.e. pretty much a tax calculator that can do logarithms). That shit is awful and I hope nobody needs to use it... it's one of the handful of calculators allowed on the FE exam so I might as well get used to it.

Anyway I dropped on that HP-50G; should arrive in the coming weeks, I'll post my impressions here when the time comes.

This thing is a fucking riot; it comes pre-loaded with all sorts of power-engineering formulas (which are v. relevant to me) and tons of other equations.

Now that I've gotten the opportunity to use it for some problem sets today I feel comfortable using HP's reverse-polish notation; it's loads easier to run these numbers when I don't need to type 20 parentheses to specify numerator / denominator... I just work with the RPN stack by pushing / popping from there as I evaluate the expression from the inside-out. Of course you can still put it in algebraic mode (but isn't that admitting defeat?)...

Coming from owning a lowly TI-84, the way this thing can do symbolicaly solve a derivative / anti-derivative is a welcome relief as well (though I still wish it just had an integration table instead...). Being able to work with and convert complex numbers from polar, rectangualar, and exponential mode is a great help too.

This thing has a 180-page manual and I've only gotten through 50 pages... there's so much here to learn!

Pullen Park is a popular illegitimate parking place. There's also the option of smashing that Park and Ride life which I can recommend from experience, bus life is pretty comfy.
Park and Ride locations are PNC Arena, Food Lion, and A Secret One between Centennial and Main (apparently closed until Fall)

does english have past tense forms of prepositions? or had at some point? do we have any linguists here at howler?

like what would the past tense of through be? i think other languages have this.

>> No.9329

What languages have past tense prepositions?? Not English, nor Japanese, nor French, nor Russian. Do you know something I don't?

English has accusative and genitive preps tho.

>> No.9330

>>9329
i have no idea if there are any languages that do. i figure if english has those weird old sing sung sang forms of verbs there might be some weird old prepositions that are like that to.

>> No.9331

>>9330
There's never any reason to to mark tense on a preposition. Past markers are typically bound to verbs or are sometimes unbound (chillin' alone).

Middle english and early modern english do have some dope stuff like different conjugation schemes and cases. Cases kinda petered off in early modern, with the exception of tonic pronouns and certain prepositions. I mean you can read about all this on wiki if you want.
Cases of preps are really cool though. like
-ence = from (where, here, there)
-ither = to
-ere = at
"Whence comest thou? Whither goest thou? And where are we now"

Yes you're right the radio does not work atm; nice OP picture.
30XXFM will be up before February: I'm taking a break from server work / maintainance until then to focus on other things.

This is pretty much the way I run things. It's a lightly more complex set-up with two radios (and having them always running) but the premise is the same.

It's here (and up now; I fixed something w/o meaning to the other day) — https://prettyboytellem.com/30XX/
I recorded 15 or 20 different bumps w/ various amounts of layered digital effects the other day on a good-quality microphone; I've been thinking about putting one on after every 2~3 songs but that's (yet another) feature that I haven't written because I am busy with both tedious and not-so-tedious things otherwise.
