Description
Here's a lovely vintage ladies dress coat. The tag inside at the collar says it is "A Trigere Coat" brand. Another tag indicates that it is 100% wool, and yet another tag indicates that it was Union Made in the USA. The coat is a nice long length and it's a dark navy blue color with black satin lining inside. There are shoulder pads inside.
There would have originally been 6 buttons on the front, but the second from the top button is missing. There is a pocket on each side for your hands.
I don't know exactly how old this coat is, but I do think it's vintage. This is a very heavy coat, it weighs just over 5 pounds by itself.
I can't find any size listed on the coat anywhere. Here are the measurements for reference:
From armpit to armpit, measured on the outside: 23 inches
Total length from shoulder to bottom hem: 47.5 inches
This coat does have some small condition flaws consistent with being older. As mentioned above, there is a button missing on the front. There is a stain on the lining near the Union Made tag (can be seen in the photos) and the stain lines up with the right hand pocket. It has caused the lining in the pocket to be somewhat stiff in one area. This is not apparent from the outside at all, it only affects the lining and can be felt when you put your hand in the right pocket. There are a few small areas in the wool that are worn thin, but they don't appear to be complete holes, just areas where the wool is worn off the fabric. I noted about 7 of these as I inspected the coat, but due to the darkness of the fabric (making it difficult to see them) there may be a few more that I missed. I've shown 3 of these in the last photo for example. The coat has recently been cleaned with an in-home dry cleaning dryer packet to freshen it up, but it does still have a slight "old" smell from age. Professional cleaning will be left up to the buyer.
